The Price Hill Community Press mentioned the plans for a new restaurant to occupy the corner of of Glenway & Gilsey Avenues.
Goodies BBQ has one location in College Hill. More specific restaurant information can be found at CincinnatiUSA and AOL Cityguides (unfortunately no Yelp! review exists).

Great American Cleanup 2008 will be held next Saturday, April 26th from 9am to 1pm. Groups are meeting at these three locations:
A hearing regarding rezoning the Incline Square will be held this Wednesday, April 23rd at 1pm in the J. Martin Griessel Room (Suite 700) at 2 Centennial Plaza (805 Central Ave). Neighbors who would like to gain more information about the affects of the proposed zoning changes at the Incline Square are welcome to attend.

Pete’s right, but it’s unfortunate there’s a lack of political support. There’s no excuse for unequal distribution of CMHA housing throughout the county. Of course the only way we will ever see equal Section 8 allocation throughout Hamilton County is when the system is put to rest and it’s 0 across the board.

Finally some solid news has surfaced from the City Lights Development company! There was lots of press coverage over the weekend so here are the web sources at the Cincinnati Enquirer (includes rendering), Business Courier and QueensTower.net.
A few blocks away, less than half of the Whittier Elementary School building is standing after a few weeks of demolition.

Some students at CCU had some free time. I like the zoom on the Glenway street signs.

I’ve had a couple lattes and mochas from the BLOC Coffee Shop and so far I’m impressed. Considering it’s a coffee shop put together by a non profit ministries organization, it’s pretty outstanding. I haven’t tried the straight up brewed coffee; only espresso and milk drink, but I’ll definitely be checking it out more frequently so I can split my addiction between the Coffee Emporium and BLOC.
BLOC is located at the corner of Price Ave and Hawthorne Ave and open weekdays for coffee and espresso drinks between 6:30 and 10:00am. The short hours are probably a good thing since I might not resist a morning and evening coffee.

He never said which location he visited and I wish there was a mention of the Price Hill neighborhood, but that’s what trackbacks are for.
Sphere: Related ContentSomehow I stumbled on these photos of the Price Hill Incline at cincinnati-transit.net. I wasn’t searching for incline photos, but they are some of the best I’ve seen. The Internet is funny like that.
Sphere: Related ContentI’m sure plenty of people are aware that the Price Hill Nursing Home at the corner of Elberon Ave. and Phillips Ave. has been closed for several months. While it has seemed inevitable that the place would eventually fall down or [be] shut down, the neighborhood has always hoped it wouldn’t land in the wrong person’s hands once the nursing home vacated.
We can be grateful that a local resident on Purcell Ave. has taken an interest in the property. Hopefully, if his plans move forward he’ll be the new owner by January 2008!
I haven’t heard of a specific use for the building but I have heard that the new owner wants to unwrap the concrete box that surrounds the old Victorian home.
