Wow, I live nearby on the st. & didn't even realize they tore that house down!! Kinda sad, it looked historical, but I am SO excited about the developments!! Just what this neighborhood needs.

Joe, I'm glad to hear the good news. I caught the demolition and have <a href="http://pricehillblog.com/2008/03/12/demolition-at-incline-square/" rel="nofollow">pictures of the incident</a>.

More activity in the Incline District! Just this past week the house on the sw corner of 8th and Mt. Hope near Queens Tower was unceremnoniously torn down, scooped up and hauled away never to be seen again. The lot will be filled in and seeded over as green space. However, rumor has it that the space could become, or already is connected to the new Incline Square perhaps as retail space or the like. Also noted the area around Queens Tower (Mt Hope, Matson, Price) has been surveyed extensively with property line and underground utility markers placed all about. Also saw surveyors on Bushnell at Mt Hope and back by the apartment building at end of street. Things appear to be moving in the right direction.

My understanding is that Whittier's ground is going to become green space. The police station is interested in expanding, but I don't think the funds have been made available for that project. Hopefully they don't want to demolish the current police station.

Kroger was supposed to close this month (February) and open the new store in October. However, last time I asked a cashier at Kroger she was confused about when they were actually closing. So, I'm not sure if plans are on schedule.
